Lessons of Immortality Earlier last year. Friend: Aren't you ever scared? Me:
I grew up with a very basic foundation of Christianity... My
imagination of anything is possible, helps me with my faith that God
will come through for those in my family that do not believe. ---
Late December of last year. In a house in Feng Yuan, Taiwan,
I walked down the stairs of the 6th floor of my grand mother's
house. This was the house my mother and her 6 other sisters and
brother grew up in. There was a small tile that kind of poked up
out of place on the floor, and I stepped on it to try to shift it... It
shattered. Panicked, I put it back and continued... Furniture has
been moved around and stains on the floor reveal it, near the roof the
stairs are covered in dust, the stairwell hand railing's varnish has
been pried off from the overpowering friction of finger juice.
Even some parts of the wood were coming off... Blankets we found
in closets that have been there for decades could not be used...Some
beds infested with foreign insects bit my aunt and cousin. Figurines and girlish things from the 60-70s decorated the walls.
Later
that day I dined with my Grandmother... with 3 of her brothers
and 2 of her sisters and all of their spouses.. A table full of
age and a vibe of elder-prestige.
On my Dad's side I have not
seen the 4 kids in 6 years... Their jubilee and realness/honesty left a
great impression a place in my heart.
--
Early January of this year. In Urbana during one of the
assemblies... I don't even remember what it was about, because I
fell asleep through most of them... ..However one of them said
something that blinded my sight. I think it was when that one
lady was talking about the blind man that screamed " son of david, have
mercy on me!" I envisioned their hospitable family aging and then
being burned alive and eaten by zombies... What could be, their
inevitable future...They will go to hell. (That's what I imagine
hell is like, just because Zombies terrify me... Anyways!) My
eyes swelled up with tears... And my heart felt like someone was
plunging it with a used plunger. I have left them out of my
prayers indirectly for salvation without mentioning their very real
need specifically.
At first in Taiwan I had learned how
ephemeral life was...But it doesn't have any meaning if there's
no significance behind it... At Urbana I found some
indirectly. Everyday we must be hustling and praying for the
salvation of the world. No one deserves to be eaten by
zombies... Especially anyone you know.

I welcome it, my screen name for AOL Instant Messager is on the left.
I do not plan on actually using the Xanga to my "advantage".
Good luck.
